The award instituted in the name of Padmini Varkey, renowned humanitarian and former Joint Secretary of the Devaki Warrier Memorial, was presented to Dr. K.C. Rajashree.

Dr. Rajashree is an Assistant Professor at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, a physician with the Thrissur Pain & Palliative Society, and a faculty member of Pallium India. Considering her commendable service in the field of palliative care over the past 10 years, including in Malappuram and Wayanad districts, the award committee comprising *Dr. P.V. Ajayan, R. Parvathy Devi, and Mini Sukumaran* decided to honor Dr. K.C. Rajashree.

The award, which includes a cash prize of ?25,000, a plaque, and a citation, was presented on *December 12*, the death anniversary of Padmini Varkey, at Hassan Marakkar Hall by P.K. Sreemathi Teacher, National President of Janadhipathya Mahila Association and former MP & former Health Minister.

Dr. Joy Elamon (Director, KILA) delivered the memorial lecture, and Padma Shri Dr. M.R. Rajagopal  who dedicated his life to the palliative care movement in India, offered felicitations.
